Daisy Goodwin is a writer and television producer who read history at Cambridge, then went to Columbia University’s Film School as a Harkness Fellow. After making arts documentaries at the BBC, she founded Silver River productions, which she sold to Sony in 2012.

Daisy is the author of two previous novels, The American Heiress and The Fortune Hunter, both of which were New York Times bestsellers, as well as a memoir and nine poetry anthologies. She is also a columnist and a book reviewer, and was chair of the judging panel of the 2010 Orange Prize for Fiction.

In 2014 Daisy decided to concentrate on writing full time and was commissioned to write her first screenplay, Victoria, an 8-part series about the early life of Queen Victoria, for ITV and Masterpiece on PBS.

Daisy lives in London with her three dogs, two daughters, and one husband.
